Health insurance for individuals & families
If you’re under 65 and buy your own coverage, Monica Roman can help you compare individual and family health plans through Get Covered Illinois, the state’s health insurance marketplace, and check whether you qualify for help paying your premiums. She also offers dental and vision plans.
Get Covered Illinois marketplace plans
Get Covered Illinois is the official health insurance marketplace for Illinois. Individuals and families who don’t get coverage through work can shop for plans there, and many households qualify for tax credits that lower the monthly premium based on income and family size.
Monica helps you:
- Estimate whether you qualify for savings and how much
- Compare plans by premium, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum and doctor network
- Complete the application and choose a plan
- Report changes during the year, such as a new job, a move or a new baby
When can you sign up?
- Every fall
Open Enrollment
The yearly window when anyone can buy or change a marketplace plan for the coming year. Call us in the fall and we’ll confirm this year’s dates.
- After a life event
Special Enrollment Period
Losing job-based coverage, getting married, having or adopting a baby, or moving can let you enroll outside Open Enrollment, usually within 60 days of the event.
Dental & vision insurance
Most medical plans for adults don’t cover routine dental or vision care. A stand-alone dental or vision plan helps pay for cleanings, fillings and other dental work, plus eye exams, glasses and contact lenses. These plans are available to people of any age, including those on Medicare.

What is Get Covered Illinois?
Get Covered Illinois is the state’s official health insurance marketplace, where Illinois residents can compare and buy individual and family health plans and apply for financial help with premiums.
Can I get help paying for health insurance?
Many people can. Premium tax credits are based on your household income and size. Monica will help you estimate your savings before you choose a plan.
I lost my job-based coverage. Can I still enroll?
Usually, yes. Losing other coverage opens a Special Enrollment Period, typically 60 days from the date the coverage ends. Call us as soon as you know your coverage is ending.
